Architectural Digest unveils Rooms with a View

Real Estate Weekly, Oct 29, 2003

Architectural Digest, the international magazine of interior design, unveiled "Rooms With A View of Central Park," an interior design exhibit at the One Central Park condominiums at Time Warner Center, last week.

Paige Rense, editor-in-chief of Architectural Digest, has selected 23 of Architectural Digest's top 100 interior designers ("AD 100") to create room settings that epitomize luxurious living at these quintessential New York residences. All proceeds from ticket sales of the three-week exhibit will be shared by three charities: Central Park Conservancy, The Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA) and Juvenile Diabetes. Tickets are available through Telecharge.com. The exhibit will be open to the public for three sessions daily from Monday-Saturday at 12:30 pm, 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm until Nov. 15.

"This is the first and only time that Architectural Digest will present an interior design exhibit of this kind. We decided to co-host 'Rooms With A View of Central Park' because it celebrates the best of New York City, in one of the world's most exquisite developments, One Central Park at Time Warner Center," Rense said.

Two dramatic condominium residences located on the 73rd floor of One Central Park seamlessly integrate a range of innovative architecture and design for "Rooms With A View of Central Park." The residences, ranging from approximately 3,100-square-feet to over 3,900-square-feet, feature 3-5 bedrooms, powder rooms, galleries, great rooms, kitchens, as well as master suites, libraries and formal dining rooms, and boast the most commanding views overlooking Central Park and the Hudson River.

Scheduled for completion in Fall 2003, the 2.1-million square-foot landmark development currently under construction on Columbus Circle will be New York City's new landmark for the 21st Century. The complex, designed by David M. Childs of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, is being developed by The Related Companies, L.P., and Apollo Real Estate Advisors, L.P. Time Warner Inc. owns and occupies 30% of the center, representing 864,000-square-feet of broadcast facilities and corporate headquarters.

Buyers have signed contracts worth over $525 million for the One Central Park condominiums and The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, New York at Time Warner Center, the 2.8-million-square-foot, mixed-use complex currently under construction on Columbus Circle.

According to The Sunshine Group, Exclusive Marketing & Sales Agent for the residences, signed contracts for over fifty percent of the 201 condominiums have been received.

The condominiums, which remain for sale, range in size from two to four bedroom residences from 1,287 to 3,923-square-feet, and have sold for $1.7 million to over $45 million.

Crowning each tower are dramatic penthouses, several of which have 360-degree views of the Manhattan skyline. The penthouses are priced from $14 million to over $35 million.
