Kaled Management Corp. has announced that senior managing agent, Deborah Gordon (photo) has been named director of operations, recognizing her talents in the execution of the firm's management assignments and the value that she brings to the company and its clients. The announcement was made by Edward Kalikow, president of Kaled Management.

"Deborah has been an invaluable asset to our management team, said Kalikow. "Her approach with co-op boards is unparalleled, and her promotion is a direct result of her tireless work and subsequent success for Kaled's customers."

Gordon joined Kaled in 1987, and over the past 12 years has worked with a multitude of co-op boards throughout New York City. Her management assignments have included some of Kaled's most prestigious co-ops, including the firm's two largest properties, the 165-unit Lane Towers in Forest Hills, and The Majestic, a 202-unit co-op. also in Forest Hills.

The appointment of Gordon as Director of Operations reflects Kaled's recognition of her dedication to the firm and her clients and the positive customer feedback she received over the length of her tenure as a managing agent. Gordon has worked in the residential management industry for 28 years and has been awarded two Habitat awards, one in 1993 for "Quality of Life" and in 1996 for "Crisis Management."

Shawn Stumbaugh (photo) has been appointed vice president of information services of NAI. Jeffrey M. Finn, president and COO of NAI explained that the promotion is largely in recognition of Stumbaugh's contribution to NAI's high-tech information systems.

"Mr. Stumbaugh is the architect of our Internet and intranet strategy," Finn explains. "He's about to release our latest product, naiweb 21, a new E-commerce system that will dramatically enhance our members' capabilities and our clients' access to information."

Now in his sixth year with NAI, Stumbaugh is the recent recipient of the Innovator's Award, bestowed by Inman Publications, a publisher of commercial real estate periodicals. "We were the first national real estate organization to provide intranet services to members and extranet services to our clients," Stumbaugh explains. "We've been on-line for quite a while now, and we expect to remain one of the most innovative users of information technology in the real estate industry. It'll be my job to keep us on the leading edge."

Wey G. Lee (photo), an established architect and interior designer, has been promoted to senior associate at the New York City architecture and interior design firm of Ted Moudis Associates. In this new position, Lee will continue to oversee and manage multiple projects and be the primary client contact on several of the firm's prestigious jobs.

Currently, Lee is managing such projects as Societe Generale, Waterhouse Securities, National Discount Brokers, Tiffany & Company, Instinet and Herzog Heine Geduld. Additionally, he will supervise and be responsible for the ongoing expansion of the firm's technology department, focusing primarily on CADD and CAFM applications.

Lee joined Ted Moudis Associates in 1993 as a project director, responsible for project budgets and schedules, supervising a project team, and assuring design quality for each project from programming through move-in. In his new position as senior associate, Lee will continue these duties along with additional responsibilities.

With over 25 years of professional service, Lee's extensive experience in architecture, planning, conceptual design and quality assurance has elevated his reputation in the design industry. "Wey has demonstrated superior architectural capacity and insight for both the management and execution of the firm's projects," said Ted Moudis, the firm's founder and senior principal. "As senior associate, we are confident that he will continue to excel with his innovative corporate design and exceptional management skills."

Prior to joining Ted Moudis Associates, Lee was executive vice president of Soo Kim Associates, where he was responsible for overall project management and quality assurance. Some of his former clients included Shearson Lehman Brothers, Chemical Bank, Fitch Investments, Depository Trust Company and Domino Sugar.

Lee received a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Architecture at City College/City University of New York.

Embassy Suites, part of the Promus Hotel Corporation, announced the appointment of Steve Solberg (photo) as general manager of its $123 million Embassy Suites World Financial Center. Solberg takes his post this summer in preparation for the hotel's May 2000 opening.

Solberg has been a part of the Embassy Suites family for nine years. Most recently he was the general manager at Embassy Suites Resort in Lake Tahoe. He has also served as general manager at the chain's properties in Orlando and throughout California. In addition, Solberg worked at Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Group, Marriott Hotels and Resorts, and Hilton Hotels Corporation in a variety of positions, including general manager, director of marketing, director of sales and convention services manager.
