Victoria's Secret in Herald Sq
Real Estate Weekly, Oct 24, 2001
Leading intimate apparel retailer Victoria's Secret has signed a 15-year lease for a new flagship location at 2 Herald Square in Manhattan, according to Robert K. Futterman, CEO of Robert K. Futterman & Associates, who as coagent with RFR Realty, LLC, represented the landlord, RFR Holdings in the transaction.
Alan R. Grossman, a partner at The Georgetown Company, served as advisor and consultant to Victoria's Secret Stores, Inc. The 2-story, 25,000-SF former HMV store at the Northeast corner of Broadway and 34th Street will place Victoria's Secret in the heart of Herald Square - one of the city's most vibrant retail areas, which is currently undergoing a significant transformation.
"Herald Square is one of the great retail crossroads in the world," said Futterman, who is currently marketing approximately 300,000 SF of space in the area.
"Victoria's Secret fits perfectly with the high profile tenants in Herald Square, and along with H & M, provides an ideal anchor tenant," said Aby Rosen, Chairman of RFR Holdings.
