Wharton Residential Panel
Nov. 7--The Wharton Business School Club will offer a panel discussion, entitled "Why are New York City Housing Prices Through the Roof' from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Barbara Corcoran, president of the Corcoran Group, Jeff Blau, president of the Related Companies, and Rae Rosen, senior economist of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, will be the featured speaker at the event. AREW Seminar
Nov. 7--The Association of Real Estate Women will hold a seminar exploring incentives for businesses to relocate to Downtown from 6 p.m. at 61 Broadway, 14th floor conference room. Speakers are Donald Giampietro, director of the Lower Manhattan Business Relocation Assistance and Energy Programs for the New York City Department of Small Business Services; Richard Gottlieb, managing director of The Hunter Realty Organization; and Maia Aron, president of Barnes Wentworth, Inc. Mold Seminar
Nov. 7 - With concerns about mold multiplying as fast as mold spores, Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky & Popeo, Clayton Group Services and ML Insurance Strategies will host a seminar designed to help the real estate industry protect against the risks presented by this growing problem. The seminar will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. at Mintz Levin's offices at 666 Third Ave. in New York City. Breakfast will be served. An expert panel including Mintz Levin attorneys Jeffrey R. Porter and Jeffrey A. Moerdler as well as Mark Hodgson, director, Indoor Air Quality, Clayton Group Services and Jill K. Kerxton, executive director, ML Insurance Strategies will discuss a range of critical topics including determining if mold exists and effectively allocating mold risks.
Israel Bonds Lunch
Nov. 7 - State of Israel Bonds' Real Estate and Construction Division will honor Charles S. Cohen, owner, president and CEO of Cohen Brothers Realty Corp., at its annual luncheon at 11:30 a.m. at The Pierre. Cohen will receive the Israel Peace Medal for his support of the Israel Bonds program to strengthen Israel's economy. Jerry L. Cohen of Tishman Speyer Properties, Burton P. Resnick of Jack Resnick & Sons, and Sheldon H. Solow of Solow Building Co. are luncheon chairmen. Kent M. Swig of Brown Harris Stevens and Swig Burns Equities is campaign chairman.
