Bailey House receives Human Service award

Real Estate Weekly, Oct 30, 2002

The Relocation Council of New York (RCNY) last month presented Bailey House, New York's leading provider of housing for homeless people with AIDS, with its first annual "Human Service" award. The presentation was made during the Sept. 23 RCNY breakfast symposium held at the Ritz-Carlton Battery Park, which focused on the "State of the New York Housing Market."

The Relocation Council of New York is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the transfer of corporate employees to the New York area. Other Human Service Award recipients included Habitat for Humanity and New York Cares.

"We are honored to be a recipient of the first award given by the RCNY," said Gina Quattrochi, Bailey House executive director. "Housing for homeless people with AIDS is one of the most pressing issues facing this city today and it is gratifying to see that the RCNY is behind our efforts."

The symposium and awards were sponsored by DJ Knight and Company. Deloitte and Touche, Cendant Mobility, the National Foreign Trade Council and the Ritz-Carlton Battery Park.

"These nonprofits have a long history of assisting the homeless and other needy New Yorkers," said David Knight, president of DJ Knight and Co., one of the symposium sponsors.
