Newmark & Company Real Estate, Inc. announced the appointment of Richard Taylor and Gary Glatter as senior managing director and managing director, respectively.

Glatter is an accomplished professional attorney, with more than 14 years of combined legal and commercial real estate experience. His expertise runs the gamut from commercial leasing and acquisitions to development, investment sales, and financing.

Prior to joining Newmark, Glatter served as senior vice president of MainStreet Dental Management Corporation.

Taylor has extensive experience in corporate real estate, especially in the areas of health care and call centers. During his career, he has represented several large corporations in several hundred million dollars worth of real estate transactions. His roster of clients includes such companies as Fuji Film, Ford Motors, and Pitney Bowes Credit.

Prior to joining Newmark, Taylor served as senior vice president of sales for ISKY.

Denholtz Associates announced the appointment of Brian McMurray, SPHR, as director of human resources. McMurray will be responsible for managing the employee relations for the company.

Prior to joining Denholtz Associates, McMurray was vice president of human resources at First American Title Insurance Company of New York. Throughout his career, he has held senior positions in human resources for such companies as the United Hospital Fund of New York, Abraham and Straus Department Stores, and the New York City Department of Transportation.

McMurray received an M.B.A. in human resource management from Bernard M. Baruch College.

The Greater New York Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management announced that David Kuperberg, president of Cooper Square Realty, Inc., is the recipient of the 2001 Humanitarian of the Year Award.

Well known in the real estate industry for his many contributions to the business community, Kuperberg is actively involved with Community Access, an organization devoted to helping the homeless. He developed "Reinvest Success," a program that helps homeless people with psychiatric disabilities transition from homelessness and institutional living to independent living. Cooper Square Realty makes a contribution to Community Access each time a tenant moves into a Cooper Square-managed building. Kuperberg was recently honored with Community Access' prestigious Access-Ability Award.

Kuperberg is co-chairman of the Harold J. Kalikow Memorial Camp Reception, where he is involved with fundraising activities. He is also the captain of the volunteer fire department in his hometown of Scarsdale.

Insignia/ESG announced the appointment of Peter Hancock as an associate in its retail group.

Prior to joining Insignia/ESG, Hancock served with Robert K. Futterman & Associates, where he was part of a team that exclusively represented such high-profile national retailers as Circuit City, Bally Total Fitness, and Loews Theatres.

Hancock is a graduate of San Francisco State University. He has served with the US Marine Corps 1992 to 1994. Hancock resides in Brooklyn.
