IREM Dinner
Nov. 13--The Greater New York Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) will host their annual dinner and awards at the Museum Club at Bridgewater's, atop the Fulton Market Building at the South Street Seaport. Cocktails will be served at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. The cost is $150 per person and members and non members are invited. Skyscraper Museum Event
Nov. 13--The Skyscraper Museum will hold a book talk on "The Lower Manhattan Plan of 1966" from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. Carol Willis, director of the Skyscraper Museum, and architects Paul Willen and James Rossant will be the featured speakers at the event. BOMA Lunch
Nov. 14--BOMA/NY will hold a luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel, Astor Ballroom, at 1535 Broadway between 45th and 46th Streets. Bob Younglove, performance coach, PATH Associates will deliver a speech entitled "Dealing With Change." The luncheon will also feature an open bar sponsored by Building Security Services of NY, Inc. REX Networking Event
Nov. 14--A networking event sponsored by REX, the Young Real Estate Group of the Real Estate and Allied Trades Division of UJA-Federation of New York, will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at Light, 125 East 54th St. (between Park and Lexington.) Open to people between the ages of 25 and 35, the event attracts young professionals from the real estate, construction, and allied trades industries, including developers, owners, brokers, attorneys, and investment strategists. YMBA Cocktail Reception
Nov. 14--The Young Mortgage Bankers Association (YMBA) will host a cocktail reception which will honor "40 Under 40," the next generation of top industry stars from finance, real estate and law as selected by and published in Real Estate New York magazine, which is sponsoring the event. The reception will be held from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at The Yale Club, 50 Vanderbilt Ave. The cost is $100 for members, $125 for non-members, and $135 for those paying at the door. Appraisal Institute Seminar
Nov. 14--The Appraisal Institute's Metro New York Chapter will present a seminar entitled "The Impact of the World Trade Center Disaster on Real Property Values Temporary or Permanent Impairment for Financial Reporting Purposes." The seminar is being sponsored by CoStar. Featured speakers will be: James MacCrate, MAT, principal, MacCrate Associates LLC; Terry Vaughn Grissom, Ph.D., Professor of Real Estate, Georgia State University; Dominick Pompeo, SRPA, Diversified Valuation Group. State of Israel Bonds Lunch
Nov. 14--State of Israel Bonds' Plumbing and Affiliated Mechanical Trades Division, a unit of its Real Estate and Construction Division, will honor Floyd Warkol, chairman and CEO of KSW Mechanical Services, at a luncheon at noon at the Rainbow Room in Rockefeller Plaza. The Division will also salute its affiliated unions-Enterprise Association of Steamfitters Local No. 638, Sheet Metal Workers' Local Union No. 28, and Plumbers Local Union No. 1-whose members came to the World Trade Center to volunteer their help following the 9-11 terrorist attack. Lawrence J. Levine of Par Plumbing Co. and Maureen D. O'Connor of Center Sheet Metal are campaign chairmen. William R. Abbate of Local 638, John Harrington of Local Union No. 28, and Don Sclafani of Local Union No. 1 are labor chairmen. Admission is $175 per person.
