Mama's Food Shop moves to Sullivan St
Real Estate Weekly, Nov 13, 2002
Mama's Food Shop's down home cooking is so good that East Villagers might wish they could be adopted. Now Mama's is reaching out to a whole new swarm of children, by opening Mama's West in 1,200 SF at 222 Sullivan St., near New York University. Michelle Stone, managing director of Sinvin Realty Corp., represented the restaurant's owner, Michael Rosenfeld.
The site will become Rosenfeld's third restaurant and is located near Third Street. According, to the owner's representative, Jon Shalom of Sky Management, the landlord had many other offers for the space, but eating at Mama's Food Shop sealed the deal. It helped that he got to meet the restaurant's namesake, Rosenfeld's mother, at the first meeting with the tenant. The new restaurant is expected to open in November.
