New tenants at Garden City Plaza

Real Estate Weekly, Nov 26, 2003

In separate transactions, three Long Island-based companies have signed leases for a combined total of nearly 20,000 square feet and are relocating their offices to 200 Garden City Plaza, the 130,000 square foot office building owned by Treeline Companies adjacent to the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City.

According to Treeline's Senior Vice President Kraig Silver, who represented the landlord in all three transactions, only about 11,000 square feet of space now remains available for lease at the prestigious office building. The three new tenants are expected to move in by year-end.

In the largest transaction, Metlife, presently at 265 Post Avenue in Westbury, has taken 8,614 square feet of space on the fourth floor. The company was represented in the long-term leasing transaction by Joel Gersten of Grubb & Ellis.

In the other deals, Lee Nolan Associates, an insurance broker located at 1001 Franklin Avenue in Garden City, has leased 5,519 square feet while residential developer Ornstein & Leyton Realty, presently at 585 Stewart Avenue in Garden City, took 4,258 square feet of office space. Brian Lee of CB Richard Ellis represented Lee Nolan while Bob Rosenbluth of Real Estate Strategies represented Ornstein & Leyton.

Treeline, which owns prime commercial real estate throughout the Greater New York area, acquired 100, 200 and 300 Garden City Plaza in 2001 and has significantly upgraded all three properties.
