New Jersey-bred broker rediscovers his home roots

Real Estate Weekly, Nov 24, 2004

Darren M. Lizzack, sales associate with NAI James E. Hanson, Inc., is no stranger to Fair Lawn, N.J. A resident of the town for 23 years, Darren has a great knowledge of its business and commercial real estate markets.

In the past four years, Darren has completed real estate transactions totaling 220,000 s/f and worth more than $14 million, including deals with a wide variety of local companies in the Fair Lawn marketplace. He is expected to close approximately $30 million more over the next six months.

Darren's recently recorded transactions in the Fair Lawn marketplace include:

The disposition of an 8,400 s/f facility on behalf of Borden Chemical, located on 3.79 acres at 8-10 22nd St. in Fair Lawn to Paramus Chevrolet. Paramus Chevrolet will be using the site as an automobile preparation facility to service its Hawthorne and Paramus locations.

The sale of the former Toyota car dealership on Lincoln Ave. in Hawthorne, N.J. to Hawthorne Auto Exchange.

An office lease on behalf of Bank of New York at the corner of River Road and Fair Lawn Avenue.

The sale of a 6,830 s/f office condominium at 17-10 River Road to Act Data Services, which relocated from Maple Avenue.

The leasing of three separate office units located at 17-10 River Road on behalf of Landzettel Realty, Act Data Services and R. Lawrence Lizzack.

The lease of approximately 2,500 s/f of office space at 16-00 Route 208 to Global Marketing Group Worldwide.

Darren is also currently assisting KEM Manufacturing in leasing out 5,550 s/f of prime office space at 18-35 River Road.

"Having been a long-time resident of Fair Lawn, coupled with the fact that my folks still live in and work in the town, I am very connected with the community, which has enabled me to successfully serve the needs of landlords and owners in the marketplace, as well as meet the needs of local businesses who are looking for prime space to operate their companies," Darren said.

Darren joined NAI James E. Hanson, Inc. in the spring of 2000, after completing his studies at Rutgers University with degrees in finance and economics. With an eagerness to achieve profound real estate expertise, he enrolled in New York University's Real Estate Institute, where he earned a Master's degree in real estate with an investment and development concentration. Darren was the first member of NAI James E. Hanson, Inc. to receive this degree.

Darren is also a member of the investment council at NAI James E. Hanson, Inc., as well as member of the National Association of Realtors, the National Association of Industrial and Office Property and the Industrial Office Real Estate Brokers Association. He is currently becoming more involved with the River Road Improvement Corporation, as well as a newly formed committee whose primary focus will be the future of redeveloping Broadway.
