Hampshire Self Storage reports plenty of activity
Real Estate Weekly, Dec 3, 2003
The Hampshire Companies, a full-service real estate firm with a diversified national portfolio, announced recent activities within its Hampshire Self Storage Fund LLC, a self-managed private real estate investment fund.
The Hampshire Self Storage Fund recently completed construction on and opened Storage Post/Watchung--a 98,850 square foot self-storage facility project on Route 22, adjacent to the Watchung Commons Shopping Center in Watchung, New Jersey.
Watchung joins Storage Post/Union a 108,000 square foot, 925-unit state-of-the-art self storage facility located on Route 22 West and Fairway Drive in Union, NJ, which the company completed and opened in 2002. Both Storage Post facilities were developed in joint venture with Slayton Development of Garden City, New York.
In addition, the Hampshire Self-Storage Fund has announced that they will soon begin construction on yet another Storage Post facility on Route 1 in North Brunswick, also in joint venture with Slayton Development, with an anticipated opening in the Fall of 2004. When completed, North Brunswick will consist of 124,500 total square feet of state-of-the-art storage space.
The Hampshire Self Storage Fund has created important strategic alliances in the self storage industry. In New Jersey, Slayton Development is the fund's primary joint venture partner.
In the Puerto Rico market place, the Hampshire Self Storage Fund is currently developing four locations with its joint venture partner, Caribbean Self Storage, Inc.
"The Storage Post facilities are representative of the type of projects that the Hampshire Self Storage Fund is undertaking," noted Norman A. Feinstein, President of the Fund. "In order to provide our investors with an above-market return, we have selected and will continue to select premier sites located on major roadways with strong demographics, where we will develop modern self storage facilities that meet market demand."
