Magnusson Architecture and Planning

Real Estate Weekly, Dec 15, 2004

Magnusson Architecture and Planning (MAP) is pleased to announce that Christine Hunter, AIA, has recently joined the firm as an Associate. Ms. Hunter, 52, has extensive experience with housing and small-scale institutional projects, including schools, conference centers, health facilities, libraries and other non-profit entities.

Before joining MAP, Ms. Hunter was an Associate at the firm of Beyer Blinder Belle (BBB), where she was responsible for all phases of the design of the TIAA-CREF Institute in midtown Manhattan, a research and education facility that comprised a landmark town-house, three adjacent buildings, and a new through-block addition.

She also managed a multi-year contract with the New York City School Construction Authority (SCA) for the restoration of seven historic school buildings, and oversaw the development of new SCA guidelines for historic school restoration.

Ms. Hunter earned her bachelor's degree from Yale University and her master's degree in architecture from Columbia University. She is also the author and co-illustrator of Ranches, Rowhouses & Railroad Flats, a formal and historical study of American housing types, published by WW Norton in 1999.
