Thomas Fridstein, FAIA, CEO of Hillier Architecture, has announced that the following professionals were recently hired to work in Hillier's Princeton Headquarters:
Mindy Sherwood has joined the firm as the new Public Relations Manager. The former Editor of the Princeton Business Journal and account executive for Hollyrock / Miller Marketing Communications, Ms. Sherwood will direct the firm's submissions to design awards programs and oversee the promotion of projects in the Princeton office.
Ms. Sherwood holds a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature from William Smith College in Geneva, NY and a Master's Degree in non-fiction writing from Johns Hopkins University. An active resident of Princeton, she is a Volunteer for Junior Achievement and a member of the Princeton Center for Yoga & Health.
Cynthia Elizabeth Kwan has joined the K-12 Practice Group as a Designer for the Catto Elementary School / Boys & Girls Club of Camden.
Formerly with Brennan Beer Gorman Architects, Ms. Kwan is a 2001 graduate of the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn where she earned a Bachelor's Degree. The valedictorian and member of the Pratt Family Circle, she is a resident of Edison, NJ.
Gail D. McElroy, CPP, has joined the Finance department as the Payroll Supervisor. A Certified Payroll Professional, Ms. McElroy comes to Hillier from NJ State Medical Underwriters, Inc. where she was the payroll accountant. She has more than 18 years of experience in her field. She is a resident of Lawrenceville, NJ.
Dade Van Der Werf, AIA, LEED ap, has joined the Education practice group as a Project Architect. He previously worked with Ford Farewell Mills Gatsch.
At Hillier, Mr. Van Der Weft will be working on the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business and the California State University Fresno Library.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy from Duke University and a Maser of Architecture degree from Yale University School of Architecture. A resident of Princeton, NJ, he is active in the American Institute of Architects and the US Green Building Council.
Jiun-Yi (Sky) Wu has joined the Education Practice Group as a Designer and is working on the Fresno Library project for California State University.
Formerly an intern architect with Colimore Gallow Architects in Baltimore, Mr. Wu holds a Masters Degree in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis. He is a resident of Highland Park, NJ.
Enis Piskiner has joined the Education Practice Group as an Architect and is working on the masterplan for Montgomery Academy and the Virginia Commonwealth University Business School.
Formerly with PJP Architecture, Mr. Piskiner holds a bachelor's degree from New York Institute of Technology. At NYIT he was chosen as a member of Nu Upsilon Tau Honor's Society; received the Honor's Program Award for Excellence for having the highest GPA among architecture students; earned the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence; and won an Atadost Literature Award for creative writing. He is a resident of Brooklyn, New York.
Carol R. Durfyea has joined the Finance Department as the Studio Coordinator. Formerly with NJ State Medical Underwriters, Inc, she has more than 30 years of experience in her field.
A graduate of the Berkeley School in Ridgewood and the Cittone Institute in Princeton, Ms. Duryea is active in Business & Professional Women--NJ and in civic and church organizations. She is a resident of East Windsor, NJ.
Laurie Ingebrandt has joined the firm as an Office Assistant. She is a resident of Bordentown, NJ.
