ExecuStay by Marriott

Real Estate Weekly, Dec 20, 2000

ExecuStay by Marriott, the hospitality giant's corporate housing division, together with Cort Furniture, furnished the YMCA at 17 Riverdale Ave. in Yonkers, N.Y. with beds and other home furnishings on Dec. 13 as part of ExecuStay's nationwide "Sharing With Our Communities" program.

The "Sharing With Our Communities" initiative is ExecuStay's annual community relations program that provides in-kind resources to non-profit shelters for homeless people, and encourages ExecuStay employees to help meet other needs of the individuals and families served by the shelters, The 2000 program is planned in 18 markets across the country.

"This is a great program because it gives our employees the opportunity to get involved with worthy causes in their" communities and it provides basic items to those who need them the most, "commented David Lorenzo, vice president of ExecuStay's New York operation. "Cort Furniture will supply beds and ExecuStay will provide bed linens, kitchen furnishings, and other household items to help furnish the 78 rooms at the Yonkers YMCA."

ExecuStay loaded two trucks with the goods, which were donated by the company's Teterboro, N.J. warehouse and took them directly to the YMCA, where employees distributed the items.
