The SCR Design Organization, Inc. announced the promotion of Roberto Quintanar to project director of the firm's telecommunications mission critical group.

Quintanar has been with SCR since 1995. Prior to his promotion, he held the position of senior technical coordinator. In his new position, Quintanar will be responsible for managing aspects of his telecommunications projects, including construction detailing, review and implementation of project schedules, consultant and vendor coordination, and quality control.

Quintanar brings 15 years of experience in the interior architectural field to this new position. He has worked with many well-known organizations in the telecom sector, including Level 3 Communications, Teligent, Bell Canada, Enron, and NetworkPlus, as well as clients such as Wachovia Bank, Merrill Lynch, and Banco Popular.

Quintanar received a B.S. in architecture from the New York Institute of Technology.

GVA Williams announced that Edward Ackerman has joined the firm as its chief financial officer. Charged with managing the day-to-day financial operations of the company, Ackerman will be responsible for the financial aspects of GVA Williams' corporate and property management accounting, as well as its acquisitions.

Prior to joining GVA Williams Ackerman, a certified public accountant, served as vice president of finance and director of information technology at Macklowe Properties, where he was part of the senior management team for its commercial and residential real estate portfolio. From 1995 to 1998, he served as manager for Real Estate Evaluation Services, Inc. and prior to that he served as the controller for The Metropolis Group.

Jason R. Bogart has joined Advance Realty Group as a financial analyst in the acquisitions/capital markets department. He will be responsible for assisting in the underwriting of potential acquisition, development, and redevelopment opportunities. In addition, Bogart will prepare and monitor Advance's internal valuations of its existing portfolio.

Previously, Bogart was employed as an inventory manager at Oakwood Corporate Housing in Totowa, N.J. He received his M.S. in real estate investments and development from New York University. He received his B.S. in communications from the University of Miami.

Bogart, of Waldwick, N.J. is a member of the New Jersey Apartment Association and a licensed New Jersey real estate salesperson.

Kushner Companies appointed Marc B. Schneiderman director of operations for Westminster Communities, the company's construction division, announced chief operating officer Stewart Epstein.

As director of operations, Schneiderman will oversee the residential development division, which delivers approximately 750 units annually in the northeast. These include private residences within master-planned communities as well as townhomes, condominiums and active-adult developments. He reports directly to Epstein.

Schneiderman, of Marlboro, N.J., has more than 35 years of real estate development experience in residential, commercial and institutional projects. For 12 of those years he worked for Calton 7, Inc. in Manalapan, N.J., serving as president of Calton Homes of New Jersey. Schneiderman holds a bachelors degree in building sciences from Pratt Institute in New York and an associates degree in construction technology from New York City Technical College.

William C. Hanson, SIOR, president of NAI/James E. Hanson, Inc. announced the appointment of Darren Lizzack as sales associate. Lizzack has worked part time with the company since 1997 in research and sales. During his tenure he completed several transactions working with the firm's senior team of executives.

Since joining the firm, Lizzack has participated in the leasing of nearly 45,000 square feet of assignments for such companies as One Madison Management Corporation, Rentacrate, Inc., Hawthorne Auto Exchange, Inc., Century Paper, Inc. and Westone, Inc.

Darren Lizzack resides in Hackensack, N.J. and is a graduate of Rutgers University School of Management. He is continuing his education by pursuing New York University's masters in real estate. He is a member of the National Association of Realtors and The Industrial and Office Real Estate Brokers Association.

William B. May International announced that Clifford Sussman has joined the company as vice president.

Sussman was formerly with the David S. Kriss Realty Company. He is a licensed commercial real estate broker, specializing in office and retail tenant representation. He has represented numerous tenants such as Willamette Management, Transworld Health Care, and Tati of Paris. Sussman is a graduate of Arizona State University.

The Real Estate Board of New York announced the appointment of Leslie W. Himmel to its board of governors.

Himmel has worked in the real estate industry for more than twenty years. She has been a member of REBNY for the past 16 years, serving on the owners and builders and sales brokers committees. At the moment, she serves as the co-chairman of the economic development committee, working with government officials to enhance the economic strength and security of the Manhattan Central business district.
