Cosentini Associates expanding NJ operations

Real Estate Weekly, Jan 1, 2003

Cosentini Associates, an international consulting engineering firm, has expanded its New Jersey practice by opening second office at 24 Commerce St. in Newark, announces Douglas as C. Mass, P.E., president of Cosentini.

In addition to full-service mechanical/electrical engineering, the new office is offering a comprehensive range of specialties that includes lighting, audiovisual, telecommunications and security design services. The services provided by the Newark office will complement the firm's original New Jersey practice at Two Paragon Way in Freehold.

Moreover, both New Jersey offices will have access to the extensive resources of Cosentini's midtown Manhattan headquarters, with a staff comprising more than 300 engineering professionals.

"Opening a second office in New Jersey was a decision we made to better serve our clients," explains Mass. "Cosentini has always been a service-oriented company and we know that having these two offices will allow us greater proximity to our New Jersey clients and their projects."

The Newark office is being headed by John Oskwarek, P.E., a Cosentini senior vice president who has directed the engineering of several New Jersey projects, including Rutgers University, the Tellium Corporation and numerous public school districts throughout the state.

The Freehold office, which opened in June 2000 as a full-service practice with a focus on information technologies (IT), has already been responsible for the IT work at ADP Corporation's Hosting Center in Bridgewater, as well as several K-12 school districts throughout the state.

In addition, the office recently completed the new IT system for the city of Woodbridge, which entailed a 45-mile fiber optic network connecting 56 municipal buildings, including schools, firehouses and police stations.

This past fall, the Freehold office was awarded six IT contracts by the Economic Development Association of New Jersey as part of an $8 billion state project to renovate 1,000 schools.
