Argo Corp. donates Xmas gifts to children of Sept. 11 victims

Real Estate Weekly, Jan 9, 2002

Karen Berman, vice president of the Argo Corporation and the widow of New York police officer Lt. Gary Berman, can understand the pain of losing a husband and a father, and that's why the children of the 23 New York City police officers killed on Sept. 11 have all received Christmas gifts from the Argo Corporation.

Gary Berman was assigned to the electronic communications unit that, according to Karen Berman, would have been among the first dispatched to the World Trade Center on Sept. 11 to set up temporary headquarter vehicles.

"Gary would have been there on Sept. 11," Berman said. "I have three children and I can understand some of the grief and pain the surviving parents and children are going through. In my own way, I was to help as we were helped by many of Gary's fellow officer when he died."

The Patrolmen's Benevolent Association has distributed the gifts, along with a personal not for each child from an Argo employee.
