Marketing Professionals host event against industry scourge
Real Estate Weekly, Jan 19, 2005
The Association of Real Estate Marketing Professionals recently hosted a successful inaugural event in support of the Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis at Opia Restaurant & Lounge.
The mission of this new organization is to raise awareness of the real estate marketing profession, to provide a network for industry executives and to support industry-related causes.
Pulmonary Fibrosis is an incurable lung disease that can be triggered by inhaling construction debris.
"This is a cause the real estate development and construction industries should be behind," said Beth Fisher, a managing director at the Tarragon Corporation and organizer of the event.
"This is only the beginning of raising industry awareness and support for curing this deadly disease."
Corporate sponsors of the event included Blackman New York, a supplier of fine plumbing and architectural hardware which recently opened its first Manhattan showroom at 85 Fifth Ave., and Related Residential Sales, LLC, a new division of The Related Companies, which recently launched two new residential developments: One Carnegie Hill and Astor Place.
Attendees included Judy Banham, senior managing director of The Sunshine Group, Ltd., Susan de Franca, president of Related Residential Sales; Jill Cremer and Laura Cordovano, of The Trump Organization, and Patricia Cole, executive vice president of Corcoran Group Marketing.
