The Department of Finance releases the tentative property tax assessment roll on Friday, January 15th. Applications for reduction can be filed up until Monday, March 1st for Classes II and IV, while Class I homeowners have until Monday, March 15th. Watch for increases in assessment on the big commercial properties that were leased up over the last two years; the luxury rental towers; and the fanciest co-ops and condo buildings. The hotels could get hit for the third year in a row, since their incomes have been exceeding, all expectations.
In your excitement, don't forget to finish delivering window guard notices to residential tenants by Saturday, January 16th.
