Westchester's Carrera to address CID

Real Estate Weekly, Jan 12, 2000

Salvatore J. Carrera, newly appointed director of the Westchester County Office of Economic Development, will make his first public appearance before the commercial brokerage community at the January 13th breakfast meeting of the Commercial and Investment Division of the Westchester County Board of Realtors, Inc.

The 8:30 a.m. meeting, to be held at the Board of Realtors' offices in White Plains, is open by advance reservation (914) 681-0833 to members and other interested commercial brokers.

Carrera was appointed to his new position on December 1, 1999, succeeding Robert Elliott, who became president of the Convention and Visitors Bureau. Carrera will continue to serve as the County's director of Real Estate as well. In the latter capacity, he will soon be releasing recommendations for the consolidation of county government leased space into county-owned properties. He is himself a real estate licensee with more than 30 years' experience with commercial and residential real estate brokerage firms in the New York metropolitan area.

CID president Edward Kulikowski said, "The County Office of Economic Development is in the midst of a major consulting project that could result in profound changes in how the County attracts and retains its business base that is so important to the commercial brokerage industry. Sal Carrera will discuss the recommendations of the consulting project, as well as his own goals for the County's economic development efforts."

The Commercial and Investment Division of the Westchester County Board of Realtors comprises more than 140 individuals and firms in various aspects of office, retail and industrial real estate business in the Westchester region. The Division sponsors monthly meetings and operates a commercial space information dissemination system for its members.
