The Cambridge, Mass. office of Weidlinger Associates has named Dr. Minhaj A. Kirmani as division head and Dr. Abdol Hagh as managing director, according to an announcement made by Dr. Jeremy Isenberg, the firm's president and chief executive officer.

Kirmani, who has been a principal of the firm since 1983, has been with Weidlinger's Cambridge office for more than 28 years. He has played a major role in the completion of a number of large projects, including the Seaport Hotel, Logan Hilton Hotel, the East Office Building of the World Trade Center, and 10 James St. in Boston. Prior to joining Weidlinger, he served as a civil and structural engineer for Doxiadis Associates in Athens and Karachi. Kirmani received his B.S. from the University of Karachi in Pakistan, and his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.

Hagh, who has been a principal since 1990, has been with Weidlinger since 1980. He has worked on the engineering design of many transportation projects, including the Central Artery/Tunnel in Boston, the JFK Airport rail link design/build competition in New York, and various MBTA projects in Boston and Cambridge. His other projects include the Riverview Office Park in Cambridge, numerous residential and retail projects throughout the country, and the Suffolk County courthouse restoration and renovation, as well as its Social Law Library and the Veterans Administration Hospital renovation. Hagh received his B.S. from Northeastem University, his M.S. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and his Ph.D. from Northeastern University.

EAV Realty Corp announced that Frank S. Miller has joined the company as senior vice president of its investment sales and financing divisions. Miller's specialties include the brokerage of investment grade commercial properties and net leased assets.

Miller has more than 15 years of commercial real estate experience, including acquisition, investment brokerage, and leasing. Prior to joining EAV, Miller was president of his own investment firm. In addition, he has served in the position of senior vice president at The Carlton Group, Ltd.

He also has been affiliated with Cohen & Company, a brokerage firm in New York City where he closed more than $40 million of shopping centers, net lease and distressed retail property transactions. Prior to his tenure at Cohen & Company, Frank served as vice president for S.T.V. Corporation and was responsible for overseeing a portfolio of approximately $150 million of commercial properties.

Miller holds a B.A. from the State University of New York and a degree in property management and finance from the New York University.

Cushman & Wakefield announced that Thomas P. Falus has been named president of the company's worldwide strategic ventures group. As president, Falus will lead C&W's efforts to maintain its position in global commercial real estate by identifying and developing strategic e-commerce and traditional venture opportunities in support of the firm's core businesses.

Falus joined Cushman & Wakefield in January 1997. He has been active in real estate for 26 years as a principal, owner's representative and intermediary. He is a member of C&W's board of directors and global management committee and is one of a limited number of shareholders of the firm. Prior to assuming his current position, Falus was president of Cushman & Wakefield of New York, Inc.

Prior to joining C&W, Falus was executive vice president in charge of development and leasing for Olympia & York USA. He joined O&Y in New York in 1985. His initial role as the senior deal maker lead to his first appointment in 1987 as the head of O&Y's downtown portfolio. In 1989, he was named head of O&Y's U.S. leasing and development organization. During his tenure at O&Y he was responsible for almost 30 million square feet of transactions with a wide range of national and international entities, involving leases, sales and equity and debt structures.

Joe McGinley has joined the Kalian Companies as vice president of sales and marketing.

In his new position, McGinley is responsible for overseeing sales and marketing operations at Kalian's New Jersey and New York residential communities, which include Carriage Gate in Raritan Township, and Pine Lake Village in River Vale.

He is also overseeing the company's expansion into the adult market with Brookside in Monroe Township, and Half Moon Bay in Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y.

Prior to joining the Kalian Companies, McGinley was director of sales and marketing at Westminister Communities, a Florham Park-based residential homebuilder. He also served as sales director for Bellemead Development Corporation, a subsidiary of the Chubb Companies.

A resident of Alexandria Township, N.J., McGinley holds a New Jersey real estate broker's license.

Ingrid R Noone has become a principal of Schonbraun Safris McCann Bekritsky & Co., L.L.C., a Roseland, N.J.-based consulting and accounting firm specializing in real estate.
