AKAM Associates, Inc. announced that Mark Weil has been appointed vice president of management.
In his new position, Weil will be responsible for supervising agents and properties, preparing monthly financial statements, and maintaining quality of service.
Weil has more than 20 years of management experience in the multi-family housing business. Previously, he served as AKAM's director of management. In that position, he was responsible for the management of The Parsade, 50 Central Park West, and 81 Irving Place.
Baker Residential announced that Robert L. Wheeler has been appointed general manager of its Connecticut division. In his new position, Wheeler will be responsible for overseeing project operations, building construction, and marketing.
Prior to joining Baker, Wheeler was director of sales and marketing at Blenheim Homes of Delaware, where he oversaw the company's sales and marketing program.
Wheeler holds a B.A. from the State University of New York and an M.A. from Bowling Green State University. He resides in Plainsboro, N.J.
Baker Residential announced that Stephen F. Paige has been appointed project development manager for Lighthouse Bay. In his new position, Paige will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations at the residential development. Paige has 25 years of experience in construction and real estate. Prior to joining Baker Residential, he served as project manager with Orleans
Homebuilders, where he managed the production and sales of eight residential communities.
Paige holds a B.S. from the University of Indiana. He is a resident of Newtown, Penn.
The New York State Chapter of the National Association of Minority Contractors announced that Hakeem Jeffries has been named director of intergovernmental affiars. In this role, Jeffries will be responsible for representing the Association's interests in negotiatins with governmental agencies.
Jeffries is a practicing attorney in the litigation department of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison. During his career, he has represented a number of Fortune 500 companies.
Jeffries holds a J.D. from New York University School of Law.
Insignia Douglas Elliman announced that Chris Peters has joined the company as executive vice president and director of sales.
Peters has 15 years of experience as a real estate broker. Prior to joining Insignia Douglas Elliman, he served as managing director with the Corcoran Group. While there, Peters specialized in penthouse sales.
Peters is a graduate of American University in Washington, D.C.
AKAM Associates, Inc. announced that Jay Fingerman has been appointed assistant director of management.
Fingerman has more than 15 years of experience in property management, including the management of cooperatives, condominiums, and rental units.
Prior to joining AKAM Associates, Fingerman worked as the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development.
NACORE announced that Michael DeJohn has been named Associate Member of the Year.
DeJohn is project director of Quartararo & Associates, Inc. and executive vice president of communications for NACORE New York. As head of NACORE's communications committee, he created a job bank for local chapter members. At Quartararo & Associates, DeJohn provides project management services for major corporate headquarters projects, including Ernst & Young's new space at 5 Times Square. DeJohn holds an M.B.A. in corporate finance.
Insignia Douglas Elliman announced that Daniel Segal has joined the firm as executive vice president of corporate development, relocation, and rental services.
Prior to joining Insignia Douglas Elliman, Segal was director of leasing and relocation at A.J. Clarke Real Estate.
Segal is fluent in Hebrew and Spanish.
Newmark & Company Real Estate, Inc. announced that Patricia Valenti has joined the firm as senior managing director for its Westchester and Connecticut offices.
Prior to joining Newmark & Company, Valenti was a member of the brokerage services group at Cushman & Wakefield. While there, she specialized in agency and tenant representation, corporate relocations, and space dispositions. Valenti's list of clients includes such organizations as United States Postal Services, New York Unified Teachers, and the Coca-Cola Bottling Company.
Valenti holds a B.A. in psychology from Pace University. She is a members of the board of governors of the Westchester Country Club, the Gilda's Club of Westchester, and the Building Owners and Managers Association. She resides in Rye, N.Y.
The Schultz Organization/TCN Worldwide announced that Daniel J. Geller has joined the firm as director of its retail division. In his new position, Geller will provide brokerage services in Middlesex and Somerset counties.
Geller has 10 years of experience in retail brokerage. Prior to joining The Schultz Organization/TCN Worldwide, he served as a director at Garrick-Aug Associates Store Leasing, Inc.
Geller is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. He is also involved in a number of charitable organizations.
