Insignia/ESG announced that Richard Karson has been appointed to serve on the board of directors of the Long Island Philharmonic.
Karson is executive director of Insignia/ESG. He was one of the brokers responsible for the establishment of the firm's Long Island/Queens operations.
Karson has more than 16 years of real estate experience. Among his clients are such firms as the General Motors Corporation, MetLife, and The New York Daily News.
Baker & Hostetler LLP announced that Jacqueline A. Weiss has joined the firm as a partner in its New York office.
Prior to joining Baker & Hostetler, Weiss was a partner at O'Melveny & MyersLLP, where she counseled clients on complex financing, construction lending, and joint ventures.
Weiss holds a B.A. from Queens College and a J.D. from Fordham University. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, and the New York State Bar Association.
The HK Group announced that Robert Harris has joined the firm as senior vice president.
Harris has 17 years of experience in commercial real estate.
Harris holds a B.A. from Drake College and an M.A. from the University of Oklahoma. He is a licensed real estate professional in New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. He resides in North Stamford, Conn.
Grubb & Ellis Company announced that Leonard Malkin has been appointed senior managing director of its strategic planning advisory practice and industry specialist for its financial services department.
Prior to joining Grubb & Ellis, Malkin served as cofounder of Proteus Research L.L.C., where he provided corporate relocation, program planning, and management services to corporate clients.
Malkin holds a B.A. from the City College of New York and an M.B.A. from Hofstra University.
Grubb & Ellis Company announced that Paul Loucas has been appointed senior managing director of its strategic planning advisory practice.
Prior to joining Grubb & Ellis, Loucas served as' co-founder of Proteus Research LLC. While there, he provided corporate relocation, program planning, and management services to corporate clients.
Loucas holds a degree from the State University of New York as has studied at Pace University's Graduate School of Business and New York University's Real Estate Institute.
