Chartwell House condominiums almost sold out
Real Estate Weekly, Feb 6, 2002
Only a handful of homes remain available for purchase at Chartwell House, a new Upper East Side condominium located at 1760 Second Ave., between 91st and 92nd Streets. Although more than 90% of the residences have been sold at the building, co-developed by Capital Real Estate, Ltd. and Fisher Brothers, several tower residences have just been released for purchase.
"Many residents have already moved in to their new homes and the response has been overwhelmingly positive," said Moshe Dan Azogui, executive vice president of Capital Real Estate, Ltd. "Despite our recent national tragedy we have seen an ongoing commitment from purchasers to make Chartwell House, and New York City, their home."
Chartwell House features a variety of studio, one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom residences. According to The Marketing Directors, Inc, the building's exclusive sales and marketing agent, an exclusive penthouse home, complete with private terrace, is also available for purchase.
Chartwell House, inspired by and named after Winston Churchill's famed country residence, has a definitive European ambiance. Its lobby, for example, features beige Sophia marble flooring with a Dark Emperador marble border, Donghia tapestries, a hand-finished mahogany reception desk, and a seating area with a Donghia sofa, St. James club chairs and Paris tray tables. Adding to the European decor is a painting created especially for Chartwell House by Edwina Sandys, an internationally renowned artist and granddaughter of Winston Churchill.
Designed by architect H. Thomas O'Hara, Chartwell House features 24-hour, seven-day-a-week door staff; concierge service; a fully-equipped fitness center; a Resident's Drawing Room with full catering kitchen; a colorful children's playroom; a landscaped sundeck; onsite valet; and bicycle storage.
The interiors of Chartwell House are also very well-appointed. All residences feature premium maple hardwood flooring, high-tech data transmission lines and oversized double-paned windows. Kitchens feature granite countertops, solid maple shaker-style cabinet doors, porcelain tile flooring and stainless steel professional-quality appliances. Master baths, as well as secondary baths and powder rooms, are distinguished by Bottocino Semi Classico marble.
