Developer is delighted with luxury loft tower - Brief Article

Real Estate Weekly, Feb 18, 2004

Sophisticated buyers seeking an urban oasis woven into TriBeCa's historic fabric are finding a home at River Lofts, a new luxury residential development that is more than 60% sold, according to Louise M. Sunshine, CEO of The Sunshine Group, Ltd.

Spanning an entire block bounded by Laight, Vestry, Washington, and West Streets with the Hudson River providing a glorious backdrop, River Lofts is comprised of a newly constructed 13-story tower and an impeccably restored Romanesque Revival loft warehouse. It is fast becoming the address of choice for discerning Manhattan homebuyers.

"A wonderful mix of artists, entertainers, professionals and families are being drawn to this spectacular development," said Ms. Sunshine. "With more than 60% of the residences sold in just 12 weeks it is clear that buyers are excited to take advantage of this incredible opportunity."

Internationally renowned architectural firm Tsao & McKown collaborated with project architect Ismael Levya to marry historical precedent with contemporary flair and create River Lofts' two components: 424 Washington St. and 92 Laight St.

At 424 Washington St., 30 lofts deftly combine livability with generous scale, sumptuous materials and state-of-the-art technology, while preserving the building's industrial heritage. Joined harmoniously through intelligent design, 92 Laight St. is a crisply detailed new brick tower with 38 residences, featuring the best of contemporary loft design.

Each of the residences at 92 Laight St. enjoys direct river views.

The gallery is highlighted by a work of "riving art": a multimedia installation offering a live feed of the Hudson River.

"Tribeca is one of those neighborhoods that is all about dignity. I think that it is one of those amazing villages in New York that manages to define itself within a broader urban grid," said Mr. Tsao. "There is perhaps more intelligence per square foot in Tribeca than anywhere in the world."
