Space available at Long Island's "Rockefeller Center" - Retail - Galaxy LI Associates LLC
Real Estate Weekly, Feb 18, 2004
Galaxy LI Associates LLC, the new owner of the 1.1 million s/f EAB Plaza complex in Uniondale, N.Y., has appointed Cushman & Wakefield of Long Island as exclusive leasing agent for several available retail spaces on the lobby and plaza levels.
Associate Director Robert Kuppersmith, of Cushman & Wakefield, will spearhead this prestigious retail assignment, which consists of up to three plaza level stores from 500 to 5,000 s/f and two lobby level availabilities of 500 to 1,500 s/f. The new owners are also exploring the possibility of adding an upscale restaurant of up to 5,000 s/f to compliment EAB Plaza's existing retail tenants. The complex already includes unprecedented amenities, including on-site day care, its own post office, cafeteria, bank, full-service Federal Express, florist and dentist, making EAB Plaza a virtual city in itself. In addition, the property's retail shopping, cafe and recreational attractions add convenience and diversity not only to its tenants--they serve as a focal point for the entire community.
"EAB Plaza is truly a unique opportunity for retailers who will benefit not only from the thousands of emoloyees and visitors who traverse the magnificently adorned plaza and lobby area each day, but the thousands more who come to EAB Plaza for popular cultural events like the seasonal concert series and spectacular annual Tree Lighting and Holiday Show," said Mr. Kuppersmith. "EAB Plaza is truly a cultural center of Long Island."
Situated on more than 36 acres of land in Nassau county, EAB Plaza is one of Long Island's most prestigious properties. Its two 15-story glass towers are connected by a three-story lower level, plaza and lobby. Built in 1984 and designed by renowned architect Michael Harris Spector, the complex includes an ice skating rink, a 60-foot cascading indoor waterfall and lush winter garden--home to many community events, as well as Long Island's largest Christmas tree, earning EAB Plaza the title of "Long Island's Rockefeller Center." EAB Plaza is located at the intersection of the Meadowbrook Parkway (a major north-south highway that intersects with the Long Island Expressway and the Northern and Southern State Parkways) and Hempstead Turnpike, (a major east-west thoroughfare) in Nassau county. Onsite parking facilities include a four-story garage.
Indicative of its stature within Long Island's real estate market, EAB Plaza boasts some of the country's most prominent tenants, including Citibank, Dreyfus, Washington Mutual, Del Laboratories, General Motors Acceptance Corp. and the law firms of Rivkin, Radler; Ruskin, Moscou & Faltischek and Farrell Fritz. EAB Plaza is currently 97% occupied.
Galaxy LI Associates LLC, the owner of EAB Plaza, is a joint venture between The Moinian Group and C&K Properties.
