Kathy Shea-Urbat, a corporate finance professional, has been named chief financial officer of Capital Thinking, Inc. In this role, Ms. Shea-Urbat will be responsible for all aspects of financial management including budgeting, financial reporting, and capital-raising efforts as the company continues to gain market share in the online commercial mortgage space.

Shea-Urbat joins Capital Thinking after seven years with Hyatt International Corporation, where she served as director of corporate finance. In that capacity she was responsible for corporate treasury work and project finance/asset management relating to several international hotel/casino projects. Previously, SheaUrbat held senior financial positions at several prominent companies, including Coopers & Lybrand; Electra Inc., a British venture capital company; and Chase Manhattan Bank.

Shea-Urbat is a graduate of Smith College and Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Craven, a commercial property and project management firm, has announced the addition of David Trinin as project manager.

Prior to this new position, Trinin was a property manager with Insignial/ESG, where for the past three years he has been responsible for managing all operational aspects of HIRO Real Estate's 650 Madison Ave. Trinin played a key role in the property's recent repositioning, working directly with Hiro's executives and building staff to insure the smooth transition of 650 Madison Ave. into a "Glass A" property. 650 Madison is currently 100% occupied.

Recognized as Insignia/ESG's 1999 on-site manager of the year, Trinin served as a property manager for a number of notable properties during his five years with the firm. Among them, 866 Third Avenue. and 430 Park Ave., the Bank of Montreal building.

Prior to joining Insignia/ESG, Mr. Trinin served as a managing agent for Walter Samuels where he managed both commercial properties and a portfolio of co-ops and condos.

A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a B.S. in Real Estate, Trinin is an active member of BOMA.

Glenn DeFriest has been named a project manager in the New York office of Carlson, one of the leading singlesource providers of consulting, design, and implementation services for missioncritical applications, networks and environments.

DeFriest has more than 17 years. of project management and cross-functional engineering experience in the design, de velopment and deployment of high availability mission-critical infrastructures, from the facilities to the information systems. Prior to joining Carlson, he held several positions of increasing responsibility with the Harris Corporation.

DeFriest is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a B.S. degree in Engineering.

The Marketing Directors, Inc. has named Jodi L. Schaiman a project coordinator, announced Adrienne Albert, president of the firm.

Schaiman provides developers of residential real estate a wide range of marketing and sales services, including market analysis, pricing, product review, coordination of marketing materials, and sales staffing and training.
