Outback Steakhouse opens at Harmon Meadow Plaza
Real Estate Weekly, August 14, 2002
Hartz Mountain Industries, Inc. has announced that Outback Steakhouse opened July 30 at its mixed-use development "Harmon Meadow Plaza."
The restaurant site is adjacent to Loew's Eight Plex, the Meadowlands Exposition Center and Courtyard by Marriott Hotel. Harmon Meadow, located in the New Jersey Meadowlands off Route 3 is just three miles from Midtown Manhattan and consists of two components - the Plaza at the Meadows and Mill Creek.
"It is a positive sign for our town and the region the Harmon Meadow continues to attract top national tenants," said Secaucus Mayor Dennis Elwell. "Outback recognizes the advantages that Secaucus's location and environment provide and we are pleased to welcome them."
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held July 29 with Elwell and Hartz representatives in attendance.
"A mix of quality restaurants is important to Harmon Meadow and its tenants and bringing in a new concept like Outback is sure to have a positive impact on both sides," said Hartz president and chief operating officer Emanuel Stern. "Outback will provide an important amenity to our office tenants and Harmon Meadow will provide a fertile business environment for Outback. We look forward to a lasting relationship."
