Pret A Manager sandwich company opens 12th Manhattan shop

Coinciding with the anniversary of its second successful year in the U.S., Pret A Manger, the British sandwich company credited with revolutionizing the lunch market in the U.K., opened its 12th shop in New York on July 23.

Located underground in the South Side Corridor on the concourse level at 30 Rockefeller Center, the new shop joins nine other midtown sites and two in the heart of the financial district.

Three more Midtown locations will soon follow. A total of 40 Pret shops are expected by the close of 2004.

What Else is New at Pret?

* Pret "Park Packs" are introduced for midtown picnickers - Created with fans of the Bryant Park movie series in mind, Pret's 42nd Street shop, located just across from the park now offers boxed meals perfect for dinner and a show.

* Pret Cools Enjoy a Warm Reception - Made from natural juices and sparkling spring water, Net's new branded beverages have proved a summer hit. Flavors include Grape Juice & Elderflower, Orange Juice & Passionfruit and Lemon Juice

* The Shop Heard Round the World - Pret has now opened the second of seven shops in Hong Kong's Central District. Menu includes Net classics as well as Asian influenced sandwiches. Net will also open in Japan, its third international market, by the end of the year.
