Real Estate Weekly, Feb 26, 2003
The New Jersey Institute of Technology honored Frank E. Ferruggia, a partner with McCarter & English, LLP, last week for his contributions to environmental education.
The award was presented by acting dean Angelo Perna at a conference on mold and related environmental issues, where Ferruggia, a tax and litigation attorney, discussed the process of obtaining property tax reductions when values have been diminished by environmental contamination. The award is sponsored by Deloitte & Touche LLP, NJIT, and Special Structures Institute.
Also speaking at the conference were Patrick J. Perrone, a litigation partner at McCarter & English, who defends claims against builders and building products manufacturers, especially those related to mold, and Steven D. Caretsky, a principal of LFR Levine-Fricke, an environmental re-mediation firm.
Property owners in New Jersey have until Apr. 1st to file their claims.
