Wolf, Block, Schorr and Solis-Cohen LLP announced the appointment of partner Michael Pollack as a member of the firm's real estate practice in its New York office. Pollack was formerly chairman of the real estate department at Winick and Rich, P.C.

Pollack's practice will focus on aspects of real estate law on behalf of private and institutional real estate owners and investors, savings banks, life insurance companies, co-operative and condominium boards, Fortune 500 companies, real estate-management and brokerage firms as well as various business enterprises and high net worth individuals. Pollack's law firm affiliations include serving as real estate partner in the law firm of Dreyer and Traub in New York as well as founding partner of Pollack and Zuckerbrod in New York.

Engineering firm O'Dea & Asscoiates PC announced a new hire and several promotions in its New York office.

Helmut Jobs was hired as an associate engineer. Jobs, of Southington, is a graduate of the University of Hartford where he received a B.S. in civil engineering. Previously he worked as a project engineer for URS Greiner Woodward Clyde in Hartford. He is a member of the American Institute of Steel Construction.

In addition, three people have been promoted to the position of associate engineers.

Robert Spina, of White Plains, has been with O'Dea since 1989 where he's been involved with projects for Verizon Wireless, MCI, and Westchester Pavilion Mall in White Plains. In 1988 Spina graduated from Manhattan College with a B.S. in mechanical engineering. He is affiliated with the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers and the National Fire Protection Association.

John Torre, of Hartsdale, has a B.S. in electrical engineering from Manhattan College. Since joining O'Dea in 1995, Torre has worked on projects for Kraft Foods, Katonah/Lewisboro School Districts, and Rosewood Mausoleum, which received a Gold Award in April from The New York Association of Consulting Engineers for design of mechanical and electrical engineering systems. Torre is affiliated with the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.

Frederick H. Dean, of Hawthorne, worked as the director of building design for the Westchester County Department of Public Works before joining O'Dea in 1999. A graduate of Bridgeport Engineering Institute, he has a B.S. in mechanical engineering. Dean is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers and served in the United States Coast Guard Reserve.

Mel Scheinerman has been promoted to vice president of Westminster Management Company, the property management division of Kushner Companies.

Scheinerman, of Manalapan, N.J., has been with Kushner Companies for 10 years, working in a variety of capacities. In his new position, Scheinerman is responsible for overseeing property management operations for the company's multi-family housing portfolio including more than 20,000 apartments in New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Florida. In addition, he handles a variety of special projects relating to the expansion of the company's portfolio and is involved in capitalizing and in-house training activities.

Prior to joining Kushner Companies in 1990, Scheinerman held a principal role at a family-owned business. He has a bachelor's degree in psychology and math from Queens College.

Alan Tantleff was named executive vice president of the New York office at Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels. He was formerly senior vice president.

Cushman & Wakefield Inc. announced that Stacy L. Wallach has joined the firm as senior operations executive for the New York area. Wallach was formerly senior vice president and general counsel for Insignia/ESG.

The Brookhill Group announced that Walter Syrek has joined the firm as director of construction for the firm's management subsidiary. Syrek was formerly vice president of Valhal Corp.

Neil Siderow, a senior principal of Murray Hill Properties/TCN Worldwide, has been appointed chairman of TCN Metro.

Siderow, a general partner and chief operating officer of Murray Hill Properties, has engaged in the acquisition, development and management of real estate projects since 1970. For more than thirteen years, Siderow has served as general partner for more than 30 limited partnerships to acquire and operate real estate interest for investors. At Murray Hill Properties/TCN Worldwide, Siderow is responsible for the supervising and leasing of more than three million square feet of commercial space. In addition, he supervises 40 real estate professionals in the brokerage department and oversees the firm's marketing strategy, advertising, and public relations activities.

Siderow is a graduate of New York University and attended Pace University for his MBA.

Kevin Swill, of Fair Lawn, N.J., has been appointed president of Westminster Capital, a division of Kushner Companies.

Swill most recently served as executive director of originations for CIBC World Markets in New York City, the global investment banking, securities brokerage and asset management arm of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. Prior to CIBC, Swill originated loans for Deutsche Banc Mortgage Capital and Merrill Lynch. In his new position with Westminster Capital, Swill will coordinate all aspects of financing for Kushner Companies, including debt and equity financing, as well as funding for joint venture transactions.
