RSA to use NTN for tenant screening service
Real Estate Weekly, March 6, 2002
The screening process of prospective tenants for 25,000 owners of the city's 1.1 million rent stabilized apartments just got more comprehensive. That's because Court & Credit[TM], the tenant screening service of the Rent Stabilization Association of New York City, Inc., has partnered with NTN, Inc., a national leader in the tenant screening industry. RSA members now have instant access to the largest proprietary tenant history database in the country, according to RSA president Joseph Strasburg.
NTh-New York, part of a vast network of resources that includes 25 offices in 21 states, provides localized screening results and interpretation of reports to RSA members.
"The New York City housing market and the needs of property owners of rent stabilized apartments are unique. NTN's strong New York presence will meet those needs and provide enhanced information on prospective and existing tenants," Strasburg said.
NTN's New York Housing Court reports consist of data from the courts, lease violation information, investigation of Social Security number, and identity of the property owners of the applicant's former residences. Information about all court cases is entered into the NTN database less than 24 hours after the cases are filed.
