MANAR Courses
March 6, 13, 20 - The Manhattan Association of REALTORS[R] and the NYS Commercial Association of REALTORS[R] are offering three introductory level continuing education courses for the residential broker who wishes to learn the basics of Commercial Real Estate. Each course provides 7.5 hours of CE Credit and may be taken individually or as a series. The courses are March 6 - Introduction to Commercial Real Estate - Tools of the Trade; March 13 - Introduction to Commercial & Investment Real Estate: Concepts and Terms and March 20 - Commercial Calculations The classes will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the offices of Manhattan Mortgage, 555 Madison Ave. (at 56th Street), 14th floor. Tuition for REALTOR[R] members is $100 for one day, $175 for two days and $225 for all three days. Tuition for non-members is $135, $250 and $300, respectively. The instructor is Edward S. Smith Jr. who has over 25 years experience in Commercial and Investment Real Estate Brokerage. IREM/BOMA Joint Luncheon
March 6 -- The Greater New York Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate (IREM) and the Building Owner's and Manager's Association (BOMA) will hold their annual joint luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the New York Marriott Marquis, 1535 Broadway, in the Astor Ballroom. Fawer, managing director of CIBC World Markets Corporation's Real Estate Securitization and Finance Group, at its annual luncheon at The Pierre, Fifth Avenue and 61st Street.
