Dwelling Quest gets new bloom - Scott M. Bloom - Brief Article

Real Estate Weekly, March 24, 2004

Real estate entrepreneur Daren W. Hornig has taken a page from his successful repositioning of Dwelling Quest as one of New York's leading providers of high-quality service to the residential middle market, by creating Quest Commercial to do the same for the commercial market.

Hornig, who is both CEO and president of The Quest Group, LLC, is not starting from scratch. Instead, he "is meeting the growing demand from our Dwelling Quest clients to spin off the same high quality services for the commercial and retail sectors."

The Quest Group now becomes New York's first real estate brokerage firm to offer full-service real estate capabilities to the middle markets of commercial real estate.

"The large commercial brokerages focus on the top of the pyramid--the only type of deal where they can guarantee principal attention. The rest of the market is left behind and the result is unsatisfied clients and unsatisfactory leases for both tenant and landlord," said Hornig. "While others may ignore the middle market, it is profitable, satisfying to serve, and it is where Quest Commercial's commitment to service will make a difference."

Taking on the task of heading the new company as executive director is Scott M. Bloom, most recently of GVA Williams.

Bloom's record covers more than 15 years of experience in commercial real estate and more than 1 million s/f in commercial transactions.

In his new capacity at Quest Commercial, Bloom will focus on representing tenants and landlords, as well as actively recruiting and training "dynamic brokers who want the opportunity to work with clients on every, level, rather than apprentice to a senior broker for years," he said.
