Applied receives approval for ferry terminal

Real Estate Weekly, March 15, 2000

The Hoboken Planning Board has granted approval for Applied Development Company to construct a new ferry terminal at the 13th Street Pier on the site of The Shipyard, a new mixed-use community Applied is developing along Hoboken's Hudson River waterfront.

Final approval from the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is expected by April, and renovation of the pier and construction of the ferry dock should be completed by early summer, points out Applied principal Michael Barry.

"We're delighted to be orchestrating the addition of a new ferry terminal on Hoboken's northern waterfront, which will provide surrounding residents with an even more convenient and efficient commute into New York City," says Barry.

"It is particularly exciting news to residents at The Shipyard, who will enjoy fast and pleasurable transportation just steps from their doors."

Applied is currently marketing The Constitution at The Shipyard, a 13-story building offering 170 condominium residences, which is more than 80 percent sold.
