Appraisal Institute joins NREO
Real Estate Weekly, March 20, 2002
In an effort to effectively address key federal issues that impact the real estate appraisal industry, the Appraisal Institute has joined The National Real Estate Organizations (NREO), an industry-wide issues coalition of 15 national real estate related associations. Collectively, NREO represents more than two million professionals who own, build, manage, finance and appraise commercial and residential real property. As a member of NREO, the Appraisal Institute participates in suggesting national policies and initiatives, sharing ideas and speaking with a common voice on behalf of the real estate industry.
"Joining The National Real Estate Organizations is a very exciting and significant move for the Appraisal Institute," said Appraisal Institute president Thomas A. Motta, MM, SRA. "By working with NREO to address federal policies that affect the real estate industry, we hope to bring an additional perspective on how and why the real estate valuation process is vital to sound and efficient real estate markets."
In addition to NREO's objective to provide a platform for the real estate industry to meet and share ideas on federal policies, the group has an active agenda for 2002. NREO plans to educate policymakers on an on-going basis about the real estate industry and federal policy issues affecting it. It also plans to facilitate interaction and dialogue between industry leaders and policymakers. The group will also sponsor and conduct national policy forums and receptions.
