Insignia Douglas Elliman honors top brokers

Real Estate Weekly, March 20, 2002

Two of New York City's most successful real estate brokers, each of whom has sold billions of dollars of coops and condos here during 20-year careers, were honored by Insignia Douglas Elliman as the firm's "Brokers of the Year" for 2001.

Dolly Lenz and four-time winner Helene Luchnick shared the honors at Insignia Douglas Elliman's annual awards breakfast saluting top producers at each of the firm's offices. The two, who specialize in Downtown and Uptown real estate, respectively, are widely regarded as New York's top producing brokers in the territories they cover.

"Helene and Dolly have been an inspiration to the more than 700 other brokers who work on behalf of Insignia Douglas Elliman, helping the firm to achieve sales of $2.5 billion in the difficult year of 2001 and to maintain our leadership position," commented Paul Purcell, president of Insignia Douglas Elliman. Alan Rogers, chairman, and he presented the awards at the breakfast at Central Park's Tavern on the Green.

Luchnick, who joined Insignia Douglas Elliman in 1983 and spearheaded the firm's aggressive thrust into residential development Downtown at a time when the area was relatively untouched, was "Broker of the Year" at Insignia Douglas Elliman the three previous years, too.

Lenz, who previously headed up International Property Sales and Exhibitions for such noteworthy clients as GE Capital, Millenium Partners and the Trump Corporation, joined Insignia Douglas Elliman in July 2000. She already had built an industry-wide reputation as Uptown's leading broker of high-end properties as the top producing broker at Sotheby's International Realty for well over a decade.
