Skyscraper Museum Exhibit
Feb. 5 to May 5-The Skyscraper Museum will present "WTC: Monument," a tribute to the Twin Towers and the World Trade Center complex. The exhibition will examine the complex in its conception, design, and construction as well as in terms of its place in the postwar transformation of Lower Manhattan. LREM Lunch
March 20 - The Greater New York Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management will hold its monthly luncheon from 11:45 to 1 p.m. at the Williams Club, 24 39th St. The keynote speaker will be announced at a later time. Appraisal Institute Seminar
March 20 - The Appraisal Institute will hold a membership meeting and seminar, entitled "Mark-to-Market" from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. John Ross, national executive vice president of the Appraisal Institute, will served as the featured speaker at the event. Zoning Lecture
March 21 - Zoning Changes in the Borough of Queens will be discussed at a free lecture at 6 p.m., at the NYC Parks Dept. Office, Olmsted Center, Flushing Meadows/Corona Park, in Queens (speaker to be announced). The public is welcome and architects receive Continuing Education. Credits for attendance. The Olmsted Center is just east of the Grand Central Parkway, between Shea Stadium and the National Tennis Center. The lecture is presented by the Professional Design Center of New York, Inc. (PDC). March 21 - The Associated Builders and Owners of Greater New York will hold a monthly luncheon from noon to 2 p.m. A. Gifford Miller, of the New York City Council, will be the featured speaker at the event. IREM Course
March 26&27 - The Greater New York Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) is conducting a course titled "Managing Real Estate Operations." This two-day course will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Renwick Gardens, 332 East 29th St. The course will focus on maintenance as a value-added management issue and will offer information on how to identify and prioritize maintenance tasks including property inspections, preventive maintenance, energy conservation, safety and emergency-preparedness programs as well as risk management and construction planning.
