Hillier Architecture

J. Robert Hillier, FAIA, founder and chairman of the board of Hillier Architecture, announced that Steve Gifford, AIA, has been appointed managing principal of Hillier New York.

Gifford has been selected for the position formerly held by Thomas K. Fridstein, FAIA, RIBA, who was recently elected chief executive officer of Hillier Architecture.

Gifford boasts a distinguished career designing and managing complex, award- winning projects for large corporations and prestigious universities including Duke University, Cornell Medical College, Columbia University, the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

His recent projects include the Newark Cancer Center and the Child Health Institute in New Jersey, three projects at Duke University and research facilities at the University of Puerto Rico and the University of South Alabama. He is also involved in the new Sunset Park High School in Brooklyn, which New State's Construction Authority recently awarded Hillier.

Prior to joining Hillier, Mr. Gifford was Managing Principal of the New York office of Davis Brody Bond. He has lived and worked in New York for the last 25 years.
