The Clarett Group

Real Estate Weekly, March 29, 2000

The Clarett Group has announced that Nancy Packes is the exclusive rental agent for The Montrose, one of a new generation of technologically superior luxury rental buildings in New York City. The principals of Clarett are Veronica Hackett and Neil Klarfeld. The 97-unit development is located at 308 East 38th Street.

Designed by Meltzer/Mandl Architects, The Montrose, a 22-story tower, will contain apartments ranging is size from 650 square feet to 1300 square feet. Located in the very desirable Murray Hill neighborhood, the apartments in The Montrose have spacious floor plans and expansive windows. Most have unobstructed vistas with superb river and city views. The Montrose's 17th floor set-back creates six duplex apartments, and grand roof terraces.

All apartments in the Montrose will be pre-wired with unparalleled capabilities for telecommunication, cable and high speed Internet access. Washer/dryer, marble bathrooms, granite-finished kitchens and year-round individual climate control are standard in each of the luxurious apartments - building amenities will include a fitness club, community event space, roof-top recreation space and a bicycle room. There will be 3,800 square feet available for medical offices.

The building's stone base supports a glass and steel canopy which, in combination with the facade of rose colored brick and metal panels, creates a sleek profile contrasting cool and earthy materials. The focal point of the lobby will be a wall washed by a water cascade which, combined with the rich woods and textured stone, will make a dramatic and rich entryway to this unique rental building.

With no more than six apartments on a floor and four per floor on the top six floors, The Montrose will provide a sense of intimacy and privacy rarely found in rental buildings.

Renting will commence in the summer of 2000, with rents expected to range from approximately $2,000 to $6,000 per month.
