Rent-direct.com announces partnerships with websites - Brief Article

Real Estate Weekly,  April 4, 2001

Rent-Direct.com announced partnerships with six well-known apartment listing Web sites.

New York.com, Moving.com, RentandMove.com, AptsUSA.com, Places4Rent.com and Apartments-in-New-York-City net have all been added to Rent-Direct.com's impressive roster of online partners, which will ultimately increase the online exposure of each listing.

Consumers anywhere in the world who go to these sites looking for apartments in the New York metro area will now be referred to the Rent-Direct.com site.

According to Ralph Barocas, principal of Rent-Direct.com, nearly 40 percent of Rent-Direct.com's clients are outside of the New York area, and may first go to nationally-known sites such as these to begin their apartment search in Metro New York. Local landlords and property owners who list their apartments at no charge on Rent-Direct.com will now have even greater exposure through these partnerships.

"We have spent many years developing relationships with landlords in the area, many of whom see interest from qualified apartment-seekers within hours of giving us their listings," said Mr. Barocas. "With brand-name exposure from our new partners, we expect response times and numbers to increase."

"We are very excited about our partnership with Rent-Direct.com, which will enable us to have greater access to apartment-hunters in the New York metropolitan area," added Brent Daviduck, director for Places4Rent.com.

Rent-Direct.com co-founders Ralph Barocas and Larry Rosenberg are real estate veterans, each with 20 years of experience in the market.
