Vendome brothers developing Johnson's project

Real Estate Weekly, April 4, 2001

The proposed new condominium project to be built at Spring and Washington Streets in lower Manhattan is being developed by one of the community's longstanding businessmen, Nino Vendome. Nino and his brother Gerry Vendome as members of the development company known as Spring Street Development LLC, are leading the development effort to create a new residential landmark designed by the legendary architect Philip Johnson.

Nino Vendome's career as an area businessman spans well over two decades. He established a restaurant in lower Manhattan in the early 1970's and then began building his real estate portfolio by purchasing the building in which his business was located. Over the years, Nino Vendome has also established additional restaurants in both Manhattan and Queens.

From a single property holding, Nino Vendome continued to increase his real estate portfolio to include multifamily and commercial properties in Midtown Manhattan, SoHo, Gramercy Park and the outer boroughs.

In the early 1990's Mr. Vendome established Vendome Management to provide in house management services for his real estate portfolio. Later in the decade he established Place Vendome Realty, Inc. a full service real estate brokerage firm.

"The development at Spring and Washington Streets, designed by Philip Johnson will truly be an architectural work of art, and we feel it will make a great positive impact on the Lower Manhattan community that I have been a part of for so many years," said Nino Vendome.
