Taconic Investment Partners has named Andrew Nick a partner. Formerly a senior vice president with Taconic, Nick is directly responsible for the leasing, operation, asset management and repositioning of the firm's portfolio of commercial properties.
Nick was instrumental in the repositioning of 111 Eighth Avenue into a data and e-commerce center. The building, which has advanced power and technological systems, features a broad-based mix of tenants, including Level 3, Global Crossings, MCI Worldcom, barnesandnoble .com, Deutsch Advertising, Sprint Communications, and Prudential Securities. Nick also assisted in the company's re-development of telecommunications properties in Chicago and Atlanta.
Prior to joining Taconic, Nick was vice president of the real estate group at a $2 billion hedge fund. Prior to that, he was at the commercial real estate group of GE Capital. Nick also has substantial experience in development, construction, leasing and management.
Nick holds an undergraduate degree in economics from Tufts University and a masters degree from Columbia.
Beverly Thorne has joined Advanced Digital Internet as chief operating officer, announced ADI president Andrew Benson. In her new position Thorne, who was formerly vice president of business local services at AT&T, plans to enable ADI to capitalize on the tremendous demand for broadband Internet access in the home.
Prior to joining ADI, Thorne spent 18 years at AT&T, where she began as an account executive in 1981, selling telecommunications services and systems to business customers. In addition to selling, she spent a number of years in business development, product management and product marketing of various lines of AT&T business. During her tenure as vice president of business local services, Thorne led AT&T's re-entry in the local services business following the passage of the Telecommunications Act of 1996 with the acquisition of TCG.
Thorne graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of arts in economics from the University of New Hampshire, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She earned an MBA at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.
Ashforth Warburg announced the addition of Gregory L. Johnson to its team of downtown real estate professionals.
As part of Ashforth's team, Johnson will utilize his international sales and marketing experience and his outstanding leadership, creativity, and vision to assist individuals in achieving their real estate goals. Prior to joining Ashforth Warburg, Johnson was founder and president of Greg Johnson Associates, Inc. He is extensively involved in the tourism industry and is considered by many a leading spokesperson on the subject of Association of South East Asian Nations.
Kathy Braddock, founder of The Intrepid New Yorker, has joined Douglas Elliman as managing director-of sales, the firm announced. In the new position Braddock will oversee the residential sales and rental divisions. In addition to managing the growth of these areas, she will develop and coordinate new business initiatives for the broker age operation.
A native New Yorker who knows the city like the "back of my hand," Braddock proved the point soon after graduating from college by founding The Intrepid New Yorker in 1981. A re location service assisting newcomers in New York to find homes, the company expanded to add personal services and counseling.
After attending the Brearley School, Braddock graduated in 1979 from Vassar College with a BA in political science, specializing in Japanese studies, and has pursued further studies towards a masters degree at Columbia University. She has two sons, ages 14 and 12.
Joshua N. Kuriloff has been named executive vice president at Cushman & Wakefield.
Kuriloff has been involved in commercial real estate since 1981. He joined Cushman & Wakefield in 1986 and has been one of its top 100 producing brokers nationally for the past decade. He finished within the top 10 in 1996, 1997, 1998, and 1999. He was recognized as Cushman & Wakefield's Broker of the Year in 1994 and 1996, and has won the Service Excellence Achievement Award for consistently exceeding service to his clients
Kuriloff is a member of the board of directors of the Real Estate Board of New York; the board of directors of the United Hospital Fund; the Margaret Basner Parenting Center and the board of directors of St. Mary's Hospital for Children. He received his B.A. from George Washington University and has attended New York University.
Carol Lettera, of White Plains, has recently been appointed a sales associate at Houlihan/Lawrence's Tarrytown office.
Prior to joining Houlihan/Lawrence, Lettera worked with Janet Hold Realty, Crossroads Realty in Hastings-on-Hudson. She is the past president of the Women's Council of Realtors. Lettera and her husband, Frank, have five children and five grandchildren.
David Kuperberg, president of Coo-per Square Realty, Inc., announced the appointment of Patricia J. Goldwater as general manager of the Seward Park housing development on Manhattan's Lower East Side.
