Equitable renews at 200 Plaza Dr
Real Estate Weekly, April 19, 2000
Hartz Mountain Industries, Inc. has announced that The Equitable Life Assurance Society of the U.S. has renewed its long-term office lease of 244,356 square feet at 200 Plaza Drive in Secaucus, NJ, part of Hartz's Harmon Meadow mixed-use complex.
"At Harmon Meadow, The Equitable benefits from being with in three miles of the Lincoln Tunnel, yet within an easy commute of their work force, and our development benefits from having such a prestigious tenant," said Emanuel Stern, president and COO of Hartz Mountain Industries, Inc.
"We have long recognized the advantages of the Meadowlands," said Rodger Parker, senior vice president of the Equitable. "Having Hartz as a landlord is only one of them. Our employee base is nearby and we're within easy access of anywhere we would ever need to go."
"It may not get as much attention as our gold coast development, but the Secuacus office market offers some very unique benefits," added Stern. "We have 44 developable acres in Harmon Meadow, and as the market continues to tighten, that vacant land begins to look more and more attractive."
