The UJA-Federation supports a wide range of human services--vocational, healthcare, cultural and educational--in more than 60 countries around the world. Leadership and financing have been the hallmarks of Herrick's career. He is co-founder of Hudson Realty Capital, which sponsors two high-yield real estate funds: the Hudson Debt Fund I, LLC and the Hudson Opportunity Fund I, LLC. Having been involved in the acquisition, financing and management of investment real estate since 1978, Herrick is frequently called upon to share his expertise. He has been a regular guest speaker at Columbia University and New York University. He has also participated in panel discussions regarding capital markets and financing trends at gatherings of real estate professionals such as the Real Share New Jersey conferences.
In addition to his work for the UJA-Federation, Herrick is deeply involved in numerous community and philanthropic organizations. He is second vice president and member of the board of directors of Temple Emanuel in Woodcliff Lake. He is also a major fundraiser for the Bergen County Y, a Jewish Community Center and a board member of the Jewish Home of Rockleigh.
"Sandy is active in all aspects of our community," noted Rabbi Andre Ungar of Temple Emanuel. "He serves on committees, supports youth and adult education, and recently coordinated efforts to provide ambulances for Israel and armored buses for Israeli school children."
Herrick, who has a master of architecture degree from Columbia University and a bachelor of arts degree from Michigan State University, is a resident of Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J., where he lives with his wife, Jane, and his two teenage children.
