Kennedy Funding completed a $2 million loan to WKOB Channel 53, a New York television station serving the Korean community.
The borrower, Andrew H. Ohm, is a major figure in Korean media in the U.S. He established Korea News, Inc., which publishes The Korea Times New York and WKOB.
Ohm needed the loan from Kennedy in order to obtain the rights to Channel 48 at an FCC auction for digital stations and licenses.
Ohm prevailed at the FCC auction with a bid of just under $1.3 million.
