Bernard Schwartz moving uptown
Real Estate Weekly, May 10, 2006
Bernard Schwartz, the retired CEO of satellite giant Loral Space and Communications, and an investor and philanthropist, has signed a lease in 745 Fifth Avenue for his new company, BLS Group, according to John Brod, principal at PBS Realty Advisors LLC.
Schwartz decided he would prefer to leave 600 Third Avenue, the midtown building that housed his office for the last 34 years, for uptown space. At 745 Fifth Avenue, Schwartz will occupy 6,027 s/f on the entire 31st floor of the building.
"Mr. Schwartz told me from the outset that he was looking for an uptown location, a Plaza District Class A office building with good views," says PBS Realty principal Mort Schrader, who, with Mr. Brod and associate Howard Hersch, represented Mr. Schwartz.
Executive vice president and principal of commercial leasing, Scott Klau, of Newmark Knight Frank represented the landlord in this transaction.
