Chelsea tower voted a winner

Madison Equities announced that the Chelsea Modern is the recipient of the CNBC Americas Property Awards 2008 in three categories.

Winning in Best Condominium, Best High Rise Development and the national category of Best High Rise Architecture, Chelsea Modern, a luxury condominium located on 447 West 18th Street, received an award for every category for which they were submitted for consideration.

Having already won two awards from the Society of American Registered Architects (SARA) and the American Institute of Architects (ALA) these nods add to the building's already award winning design.

"From the early stages of its construction, Chelsea Modern has always generated tremendous buzz around its design and architecture," exclaimed Robert Gladstone, CEO of Madison Equities, who has developed the building. "We are proud that the CNBC Property Awards has recognized the exquisite level of work and creative design that went into Chelsea Modern, which have made the building command so much attention."

Designed by Audrey Matlock, the 47-unit building's undulating glass exterior is outfitted in blue-tinted and clear glass that shifts in and out across the surface. The iconic edifice is eye-catching both from the street and inside the homes. Unique windows push outward, parallel to the facade, enhancing the circulation of fresh air through the residences.

The architect herself created one-of-a-kind interiors, ensuring that the residences will echo the building's meticulously designed exterior. The building has only a few remaining units for sale and is open for immediate occupancy.
