Express Auction wins Long Island exclusives

Real Estate Weekly, May 18, 2005

Express Auction announced that it was chosen as the exclusive agent to market and sell two commercial properties in Great Neck and Massapequa, in Nassau County.

The auctions for 1071 North Broadway in Massapequa and 125 Northern Blvd. in Great Neck are scheduled for June 8.

Express Auction was retained by TK Management to sell the 125 Northern Blvd. property, formerly a Thrifty Car Rental site. The 10,292-s/f lot includes a small office structure and a separate storage/garage facility. Because the location is on one of the area's most trafficked roads, a great opportunity exists for a retail establishment, according to Oren Klein, vice president of Express Auction's Northeast Division, based in Manhattan.

In Massapequa, Express Auction was retained to sell 1071 North Broadway, formerly the Elegante Grande catering hall, and a lot across the street. The building measures 17,000 s/f and sits on a 32,000 s/f lot. The property across the street is also available and provides an additional 10,000 s/f of land for parking or for development. According to Express Auction, early interest on both properties has come from individuals and organizations considering a range of opportunities.

The Massapequa property is zoned as a Neighborhood Business, allowing a range of businesses, including medical office, bank, school, and retail. The Northern Blvd. property is zoned Business A, permitting for opportunities such as retail, offices, nursing home and dry cleaning, among others.
