NoLIta Place to open rental office in May

Real Estate Weekly, May 22, 2002

NoLIta Place, the first new construction luxury residential tower to be built in one of New York's hottest neighborhoods, will open its rental office this May. The announcement was made by urban residential development specialists Metropolitan Housing Partners, LLC, which is developing the boutique tower in concert with the project's owner, The Carlyle Group of Washington, D.C.

"We are proud to bring quality, modern residences to the NoLIta neighborhood, where New York City's unique energy and hip sensibility are focused today," said Jane Gladstein, a principal of Metropolitan Housing Partners. "NoLIta Place offers the very best new homes in a neighborhood starved for luxury living options."

The $30 million NoLIta Place, designed by H. Thomas O'Hara Architect, PLLC, offers 65 select, flexible-layout residences on 12 floors in its unparalleled location at 199 Bowery at Spring Street. The apartment building -- the first lobby-attended, new construction, residential building in the area -- will see its first residents start to move in June 2002.

"Pent-up demand for homes that offer exceptional amenities, new construction and security in a neighborhood that is rich with style, yet underserved in rental housing stock, makes NoLIta Place a home-run from the get-go," said Robert Scaglion, director of marketing for CitiHabitats, the property's exclusive leasing agent.

Consisting of 21 studio, 21 one-bedroom and 23 two-bedroom rental apartments, NoLIta Place offers numerous amenities and great views. The 24/7 attended lobby is complemented by an audio/visual communications system and closed-circuit television to augment security. An expansive, richly landscaped resident-only terrace/sun-deck on the second floor will serve as a meeting and relaxing space for the building's residents.
